Emmaus Centre strives to promote an inclusive society
in which every person with special needs is valued and accepted.
Our mission is implemented through:
For already 19 years
The Emmaus Center
has been changing the attitude of Ukrainian society towards people with disabilities.
Each year the Center holds about
50 awareness-raising meetings.
This constitutes around 3000 listeners;
70% of whom have never before communicated with disabled persons.
The Center organizes about
20 supporting seminars
for the families of disabled people. The amount of the people engaged in these seminars is roughly 230.
10 trainings for specialists
who work with disabled people are held by the Emmaus Center.
Thanks to the innovative job placement project,
30 young persons
with light learning disability have not only found a place of work with an income, but have also been integrated into society
Emmaus House
– an apartment in the UCU student residence, where persons with an intellectual disability share their life together with young assistants and build friendships with students;
